Port Charlotte 18
Savoring the Legacy: A Deep Dive into PC 18
WHISKY TASTING

Color: Pale Lighter Gold
Price: $$$
Nose: Right of the nose some Sweet Smoke and Vanilla, fruity, Malty, dried fruits, Some Raisins and figs on the background, Maritime Smoky, Sea salty, tobacco, you can tell its not a young peated whisky.. its much more mellow old age peat..
Palate: full bodied, Malty, Spicy, a light funk, maritime, salty, light richness, nice and savory texture and long smoke, just beautiful
Finish: Long finish, ends in a nice spice, subtle richness drops down to a long light peat and that maritime smokiness. Those red wine casks contribute to some of the astringent dryness towards the end there. Beautiful Whisky, its different, its mellow, its Suttle, the old age peat hits different from the young peated whisky's that are put out now a days with that punch in the face peat.
Final Thoughts:
Full bodied, higher ABV really is nice here, smoke hangs on for a long time but its a very light and refined. Sometimes you get this almost like a springbank funk to it. 100% scottish barley 74% refill Sherry Cask 26% French wine oak casks
Score: 88/100
