Color: Rich Mohagany

Price: $$$

Nose: Burnt wood, Some damp ambers, a tinge spicy, Heavy liqourice, Sweet plums, Dates, Raisins, Sultanas, lightly Maritime salty on the back, waxy and more of that spice on the backend, a little ashy smoke

Palate: Not very sweet, Salty peat, peppery, heavy and rich, but not very sweet, very balanced, dried rich fruits, some of those dried figs, tobbaco. Just wow, really nicely done

Finish: Very long, heavy, light peat and smoke, Dark choclate, waxy and smooth. Very easy drinking and delisously good its like eating a christmas cake

Final Thoughts:
This is a very special dram for me. I was able to get a few bottles of this during my trip to scotland in late March 2024, the distillery staff were so hospitable, they made the whole tasing so memorable. We stayed right there in the bowmore cottages across the gates, such a fun memorable trip and we got to taste this a few times at the distillery before we bought a bunch of these to take home. This also so happened to be the bottle i shared with my friends on my birthday during to the trip, so it makes it even more special.

Comign back to my final thoughts on this, Very nicely done, gem of a whisky, One of those awesome winter whiskies, This is where Bowomore shines, old sherried whiskies at cask strength . If you still have a chance, pick this one up, well worth it. Very well balanced between the Olorroso and the PX cask, not over powering each other. Glad i have a couple back up bottles of this.

Score: 90/100
