1995 Mortlach 18Yr
The Meaty Mortlach
WHISKY TASTING

Color: Pale Gold
Price: $$
Nose: The glass jumps of Citrus, a little hint of Mint, Malty, more of that lemon peel, Pepper, Pineapple, Pears, Ripe Mango. Overall beautiful Nose. Hope some of that come on to the glass too!!
Palate: Lemon, Lime, the Initial citrus burst continues, oily, peppery, some of the nose continues on to the palate, spice, cinnamon, cereal, full bodied meaty Mortlach
Finish: Long, ends in the spice, oily finish, the oak lingers too, but not very complex. Feeling monotonous at this point
Final Thoughts:
Good Summer Whisky, High ABV expression for Duncan Taylor Dimensions, Had some high hopes on this one, but feels like it fell short, not very complex, it was developing, it was the same taste sip over sip, does not look like there was a lot of wood influence here, most likely heavily reused bourbon barrels
Score: 83/100
